Peer Review Policy

Peer review is a critical system used to assess the quality, validity, and relevance of a manuscript before publication. Independent experts in the relevant research domain evaluate the submitted manuscripts based on criteria such as originality, methodological rigor, and significance to determine whether the manuscript qualifies for publication in the journal.

The peer review process for the International Journal of Social and Business Sciences can be summarized into the following steps.

  1. Submission of Paper

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. This ensures that the manuscript is officially recorded and placed in the review queue.

  2. Initial Assessment by Editorial Office

The editorial office checks if the manuscript adheres to the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines. At this stage, the manuscript's content is not evaluated for its quality or relevance.

  3. Editor-in-Chief (EIC) Review

The Editor-in-Chief reviews the manuscript to ensure it aligns with the journal's focus and scope. Manuscripts that lack originality or fail to meet the journal’s standards may be rejected at this stage without proceeding further in the review process.

  4. Assignment of Associate Editor (AE)

Once approved by the EIC, the manuscript is assigned to an Associate Editor (AE) who will oversee the peer review process, ensuring appropriate reviewers are selected.

  5. Reviewer Selection and Invitation

The AE invites potential reviewers with expertise in the subject matter of the manuscript. Multiple reviewers are approached until the required number of reviewers (typically two to three) agree to provide feedback.

  6. Reviewers Accept or Decline Invitations

Invited reviewers assess the manuscript in light of their expertise, any potential conflicts of interest, and their availability. If a reviewer declines the invitation, they may suggest alternative reviewers.

  7. Conducting the Review

The reviewers thoroughly evaluate the manuscript for its quality, validity, and significance. They prepare detailed feedback, highlighting strengths and weaknesses. The review may result in recommendations for acceptance, revision (major or minor), or rejection.

  8. Evaluation of Review Feedback

The Associate Editor compiles the feedback from all reviewers and makes a recommendation to the EIC. If the reviewers' opinions diverge significantly, additional reviewers may be consulted.

  9. Communication of Decision

The final decision—acceptance, rejection, or revision—is communicated to the authors, along with the reviewers' comments. The peer review process can be single-blind, double-blind, or open, depending on the journal’s policy on anonymity.

  10. Post-Decision Process

  • Accepted Manuscripts :

If accepted, the manuscript enters the production stage for final formatting and publication.
  • Revisions :

If revisions are requested, the authors are given an opportunity to revise the manuscript and resubmit. The revised manuscript may undergo further review, depending on the extent of the changes.
  • Rejected Manuscripts :

If rejected, constructive feedback is provided to guide future improvements.

The journal aims to maintain transparency, rigor, and fairness throughout the review process to ensure high-quality publications. Reviewers are notified of the final outcome of the manuscript and may be asked to re-review if necessary.
